Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Swerve Robotics. We would like to get to know more about you, your interests and your skills. Swerve Robotics is looking for willing adults to help us teach the next generation of engineers, artists, scientists, and innovators.

Ways you can volunteer with Swerve Robotics:

1. FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Coach or Mentor a team of elementary and/or middle school students who are willing to work with a diverse group of students ages 8-14 years old:
We welcome coaches and mentors who can facilitate thoughtful conversations and inspire the teams to accomplish amazing things. At the FLL level we work on learning the engineering process, teamwork and all around fun with LEGO. We use SPIKE Prime kits to design, build and program our robots. Skills in project management, graphic design, leadership and education are very useful for this age. Experience programming using Scratch or Python is helpful. Mechanical engineering and experience building with LEGOs is also very helpful.

2. FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Coach or Mentor a team of high school students or become a Subject area mentor (less time commitment):
Our teams need mentors – both technical and non-technical. Technical skills such as manufacturing, CAD, computer programming, mechanical engineering, electrical, etc. as well as non-technical skills such as project management, business development, management, marketing, accounting, are needed by our teams. If you have these skills and are willing to donate some of your time, we would love to have you come and join us.

3. Organizational volunteer (not as much student contact):
The organization is also looking for “behind the scenes” people who can help us with marketing, public relations, grant writing, accounting, graphics layout (newsletter, website, email, pamphlets) etc.

4. Event volunteer (once in a while or a “one off” commitment):

We often run “league” events, scrimmages, or other events for teams. In order to do this successfully, we need volunteers to do everything from scorekeeping, to pit admin, to running concessions.
